This workshop invites women without formal technical education backgrounds who are curious about artificial intelligence (AI) to help explore and shape what AI literacy should include. 

A research group at NTNU (Software for a Better Society) is running a series of participatory design workshops where women help co-design a learning tool that makes AI easier to understand, use, question, and more empowering. 

What is the workshop about? 

In this first workshop, you will: 

• Share your experiences, questions, and thoughts about AI 

• Explore how AI already appears in everyday life 

• Help shape ideas for a future learning tool designed by women, for women 

No technical knowledge is needed — just curiosity and an open mind! 

Why should you join?

Because AI is already shaping many parts of our lives — from the jobs we apply for, to the content we see online, to the services we use every day. Yet many women are excluded from conversations about AI simply because it feels too technical or inaccessible. We want to change that! 

By joining this workshop, you will: 

✨ Have your voice heard 

Your experiences and perspectives matter. This project is about designing AI learning tools with women, not just for women. 

🔍 Clarify what you want (and don’t want) to learn about AI 
You’ll have space to explore which AI topics feel relevant, confusing, important, or missing — helping ensure the learning tool focuses on what actually matters to you. 

💡 Gain confidence around AI 

You’ll leave with a clearer idea of what AI actually is, where you already encounter it, and how it affects your everyday life. And how you can use it 

🤝 Meet other curious women 

Connect with others who are also interested in understanding technology without needing a technical background. 

🧩 Build continuity across workshops 
Your input from this first workshop will be carried forward into the next sessions, where ideas will be developed further into concrete concepts and prototypes. 

🌱 Be part of something that grows over time 
Participants from this workshop will be invited to join the next two workshops, where you can continue shaping and refining the learning tool and see how your contributions evolve.
