On October 15th, we gathered at Feministhuset for an evening of conversation, ideas, and good food. People of different backgrounds, ages, and nationalities came together around a shared question: how can the work we do in AINCLUSION reach beyond the walls of our organisation?
We opened with a welcome and a chance to enjoy the exhibition at Feministhuset. A quick round of names and backgrounds helped everyone get to know each other. The conversation moved between Norwegian and English.
We shared what we mean by research within the NGO and looked back at what we achieved this year:
- The critical thinking workshops
- AI trenger dag
- Skaperfest
We also presented the themes we are exploring now and the ways people can take part, from joining activities to shaping the research questions themselves.
How can the knowledge and activities developed within AINCLUSION reach people outside the organisation?
Hvordan kan kunnskapen og aktivitetene som utvikles gjennom AINCLUSION nå ut til mennesker utenfor organisasjonen?
This question guided the central part of the evening. We brainstormed in small groups about how the NGO can reach local communities and policymakers, and which research issues deserve investigation. The discussion was lively, and the ideas that emerged will help shape our next steps in research and dissemination. And of course, it continued over delicious food!
I am proud of the discussion and the ideas that emerged. For me, the evening was proof that diversity is a key factor in moving forward with our research and dissemination goals. When people with different perspectives sit at the same table, the questions get better, and so do the answers.
This reflects the principle at the heart of AINCLUSION: communities themselves have the skills and expertise to best understand local needs.
Joins us for other activities!
AINCLUSION is a community that thrives on collaboration and sharing. If you would like to present an initiative to our members, or propose an opportunity to disseminate the work we do, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
Thank you to everyone who attended. The slides from the presentation are available here
